  » Installing Windows 2000 Drivers onto Vista for the Betabrite Prism


Updated: December 22, 2008 Vista-32 and Vista-64 drivers are now available from the manufacturer at: http://www.adaptivedisplays.com/Downloads/questions.php?questionid=8

Please be aware that while you may have a 64bit processor, it is possible that you have Vista-32 installed and will need to use the Vista(x86) USB driver.

IMPORTANT! If you are working with a practice computer and have all your important data backed up, then you may choose to follow through this article at your own risk.

With an Admin account...

Get your Betabrite Prism install-CD and copy \software\2000 usb driver\USBBulk.sys to C:\temp_usb\

Download (right-click/save-as) USBBulk.inf and save to C:\temp_usb\

Connect Betabrite Prism via USB cable to computer.

You should get a "Found New Hardware" popup.

Click "Cancel".

Go to Device Manager within the Control Panel.

Expand the "Other Devices":

Right-click "USB-BULK Device" and select "Update Driver Software..."

Select "Browse my computer for driver software"

Browse to "C:\temp_usb\"

Click "Next"

IMPORTANT! If you are working with a practice computer and have all your important data backed up, then you may choose at your own risk to click, "Install this driver anyway".

Try software at:
http://www.remote-control.net/software/ledsign/ to verify the driver install.

The driver will now be visible in Device Manager under Univeral Serial Bus controllers:
